Kult's Year of the Rabbit Installation at 8Q
3rd February 2011
A modern interpretation of the traditional Chinese papercut, Mojoko's Year of the Rabbit print uses images from popular culture, such as Bugs Bunny and Playboy bunny to create a 'jive bunny megamix'. The prints are a limited edition of 100, hand printed on traditional Chinese rice paper, signed, and numbered. With a nod towards the red frenzy in Chinatown, the entire space was covered in red drapery. Inspired by the traditional and manual method of silkscreening, Mojoko composes an eclectic picture of Chinese New Year memorabilia.
The installation will be up at 8Q until the 6th of March. The Year of the Rabbit Print is part of an ongoing series, the third in a set following from last year's Year of the Tiger Print and the previous year's Year of the Ox Print. They are available (very few left) for sale via the Kult shop.
